Blood orange and basil martini

Mixologist Stacey Giordanengo of Rosa's Ristorante in Pismo Beach shared her market-inspired Blood Orange and Basil Martini with us on an episode of Market Fresh.

Stacey will be serving these as her cocktail special for Valentine's Day, 2013.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz. Orange vodka
  • 1/2 oz. orancello (not necessary)
  • 2 oz.sweet n sour
  • Orange juice
  • 2 leaves basil
  • 1 blood orange
  • 2 sugar cubes

DIRECTIONS:

Squeeze and muddle 1/8 blood orange, torn basil leaves, and sugarcubes together. Put ice in glass w/ muddled items then add all liquid. Shake and pour in martini glass. Garnish w/ blood orange wheel.
